We wrapped up the year and toasted it well with an early Christmas lunch at the elegant Macalister Mansion on Friday, 14 December.
Organized by Juanna, the lunch was open to members and friends though members paid a little less (membership does have its privileges and in this case, members’ lunch was partly subsidized).
We each brought along 2 gifts worth RM15 each for our Xmas gift exchange during the lunch. While we had a good lunch of pan-fried turkey breasts and exchanged gifts with each other, we didn’t forget women who may not have the luxury of getting a gift this Christmas.
We decided that we would dedicate the other gift we brought along to a single mom from the House of Hope. Assisted with a list of single moms given by Cheng See of House of Hope, we each penned a personal message before we dropped our gifts into the collection box.
You see we figured that single moms would be delighted with surprise gifts. And we made sure to let everyone know that they could buy some fun luxuries like lipsticks, personal toiletries and even costume jewellery. Women would love such gifts!
As single moms, they may not have the extra money to indulge in these items but we at WomenBizSENSE could surprise them!
A few days later, a few of us arrived at House of Hope looking like Santarinas with about 60 beautifully wrapped gifts. Not every one of the 60 single moms came as some had to work and some had to rush off to work after getting our gifts.
